Frequently asked questions

Brezn

What is a Brezn?

A Brezn is what a request is made of. Three Brezn send one request. Browsing, hosting and following tents are free.

A new account gets five free Brezn: two when the account is created, and three the first time you verify a phone number — that is once per account, ever. Five is one request and two left over. You can buy more in packs of 5, 10, 16 and 35, and you can earn one by meeting somebody and making a Prosit.

Brezn are not a seat and don’t pay for one — the seat price is settled between you and the host. Buying them never gets you further up a host’s queue, never unlocks somebody’s phone number and never buys status.

Do my Brezn expire?

Brezn you buy never expire. Brezn you get for free — two when you sign up, three when you verify your phone, one for every Prosit — are good for 10 days from the moment you get them. A free Brezn that runs out is gone; we cannot extend it or replace it. Every Brezn that has a date shows it in the app, so you can see what is about to run out.

What are clips?

A clip is a little wooden clip on your profile with up to 24 characters of your own burnt into it. You get one when you sign up, and more for meeting people: your 1st, 5th, 10th, 25th, 50th and 100th Prosit, and your 1st, 5th, 10th, 25th and 50th table met. You can’t buy them.

You write each clip once, and it can never be changed — so take a moment. Your three favourites hang next to your photo; you choose which and in what order. You can destroy a clip, but that is for good: the milestone it was for doesn’t come round again. A clip is decoration: it never moves you up a host’s queue and never changes what anybody sees.

You hold at most one blank clip at a time. While one is waiting to be written, reaching another milestone doesn’t earn a clip — it’s simply not earned, and it isn’t saved up for later. Write the one you have, and the next milestone counts again. Nothing pops up to interrupt you: a blank clip just waits quietly on your profile and on your home screen until you feel like writing it.

What is a Prosit?

A Prosit is a connection made in person: one of you shows their code, the other scans it, and from that moment you are connected both ways. You each get one Brezn — once per pair of people ever, the moment the scan happens. No verified phone number is needed for it. Prosits also count towards your clips.

Either of you can remove a Prosit at any time, silently. It disappears from both profiles; the Brezn is not taken back, and connecting again later pays nothing.

My Brezn are gone. Why?

Look at your Brezn and at the request in the app — they tell you what happened. Usually it is one of these:

  • They expired. Free Brezn live 10 days; bought ones never expire.
  • The request is still waiting. Sending reserves three Brezn. They show as reserved until the request ends.
  • The host opened your request. Then they are used, whether or not the host picked you: your introduction was delivered.
  • You withdrew the request yourself. A withdrawn request never returns its Brezn.
  • A purchase was refunded by Apple or Google. The Brezn from it are taken back; any you had already spent become debt, and you cannot send until it is worked off.

If nobody looked at your request before it ended — it expired, the table closed, or another host accepted you first — the same three Brezn come back automatically, with the life they had left. The same happens if a host cancels a seat they had accepted.

What is a Brezn code?

A word that gives free Brezn when you type it in — FRIENDS26, say. ProSit hands these out by hand, for launch and for the odd apology. Look for “Have a code?” next to the store.

A code works once per person. Some codes also have a total number of uses, or an end date; once either is reached, the code stops working and says so. Brezn from a code are free Brezn: good for 10 days from the moment you redeem them, like every other free Brezn. Codes are never sold and never refunded — there is nothing to refund.

How do I get a refund?

Apple and Google sell the Brezn, so refunds go through them — ProSit cannot refund a store purchase.

  • iPhone: go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose “Request a refund”.
  • Android: use Google Play’s refund request, or in the Play Store app go to your profile → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & history.

When a refund is granted, the Brezn from that purchase are taken back: any still unspent are removed, and any you had already spent become debt, which the next Brezn you get or buy work off. You cannot send requests while you are in debt.

Requests and contact details

When does somebody see my phone number?

Only after a mutual yes. When you send a request, the host sees your profile, your introduction and the socials you chose to share — never your phone number. When the host accepts, you both see each other’s phone number and shared socials, so you can find each other at the tent.

Accepting withdraws your other open requests for that date automatically, so at most one host per date ever sees your number. The number stops being shown 24 hours after the table ends. Buying Brezn never unlocks anybody’s contact details.

Who sees the photos of the friends I bring?

Only the host of that request, and you. A friend’s photo is never on a profile or anywhere else in the app, and it is deleted 3 days after the request ends. Add one only if your friend is happy to be shown to that host — sending the request is you confirming that they are.

I was accepted but can’t come any more

Cancel in the app as early as you can, so the host can give the seat to someone else. Cancellations are shown on your profile. If you simply don’t turn up, the host can say so in the app; if you don’t answer within three days it shows on your profile as a no-show. See the next question for what happens the other way round.

I went to the tent and nobody was there

Say so in the app. From the moment the table starts, either of you can say “we met” or that the other one wasn’t there — you don’t need to scan anything to do it, and most real meetings won’t. Whoever speaks first, the other side has three days to answer.

  • You agree, or the other side stays quiet for three days: that settles it. Whoever was said to be absent gets a no-show against them, shown on their public profile — hosts and guests alike.
  • You disagree with each other: the request becomes “disputed”. Nobody’s count moves and nobody can rate. We don’t referee who is telling the truth; we just decline to reward either side.

As the guest, saying “nobody was there” gets your Brezn back immediately — you don’t need the host to agree, and a later dispute doesn’t take them back. A returned Brezn always has at least 24 hours left to use, even one that would otherwise already have run out while it was locked in the request.

A guest can say “nobody was there” at most three times in 30 days. If that’s not enough for you, something else is wrong — write to us instead.

Scanning the QR code (or typing the six-digit code) is still the fastest way to close things out on the spot — it settles the request as met right away — but it has always been optional, and stays that way.

How do I report an offer or a person?

Every offer and every profile has a report option in the app. Reports are read by a person. Report fake tables, a host asking more than the price in the offer, harassment, or anything that made you feel unsafe.
